Hi Bob.
New but related problem.
If you install Word:Mac 2011 and which to KEEP a previous install (in my case,
I
need to have Office 2004 installed for development reasons), the default
program
for opening DOC files remains Word 2011 no matter what I do to change.
The GetInfo, Change All trick does not stick.
Both Word 14 and Word 04 are in the list of Open With. I can manually open an
individual file this way in Word 04, but I cannot find a way to change it
system
wide for all DOC files.
If you have any ideas or can find out how Word 14 is forcing DOC association,
I
would appreciate it.

Open Word Document On Mac

For example, you may prefer your documents to open with MLA, APA, or some other formatting as default. When you are finished, press the save button in the upper left and close the document. Open Word and confirm your template has been saved and opens as you wish. Reverse step one to re-hide files and folders. By default, LibreOffice saves files in the Open Document Format (ODF). However, it also reads and writes files in Microsoft Office formats (DOC and DOCX). If you collaborate with others on Microsoft Office documents, but you use LibreOffice, you can choose to always save files as Microsoft Office files to make it easier to exchange those documents back and forth. In today's video, we will show you how to reset Microsoft Office to Default Settings for MacOS.The first and very important step is to quit all of Microsoft. To change the default font settings, click the small box with an arrow in the lower right corner of the Font section of the Home tab in the Ribbon. In the Font dialog box, choose the default font settings you want. But you can make it the default word processing Application. Locate several Word Processing Documents (.doc, docx.txt and so on) select them as a Group. If they are not grouped together (contiguous) hold down the ⌘ key while selecting the desired files. In File menu (from finder) hold down option key while while selecting Show inspector.
